On Sunday, August 7th, 2022, during our 8:00 morning Mass, we witnessed the commitment ceremony of our newly established Seven Sisters Apostolate.
This Apostolate was founded in 2010 in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, but currently, there are groups throughout the United States and other countries.
This new-to-our-parishes apostolate has, as its mission, primarily praying for the pastor and his intentions. "A call to strengthen the Church by ensuring that a Holy Hour is prayed each day of the week for the sole intention of a specific priest or bishop - a 'holy wasting' or lavishing of prayer for his deeper conformity to Christ."
Due to very successful response from the ladies of Incarnation Parish Church and St. Terrence Worship Site, once the primary committed group was established for the Pastor, another subsequent group was formed to support the Associate Pastor, Fr. Pawel, prayerfully.
The group’s intention is directed towards the office of the shepherd more than the individual. In other words, the group prays for the priest until he is reassigned, at which time his successor becomes the recipient of those prayers.
Each member commits to a Holy Hour on a particular day of the week, thus covering an entire week. The commitment is to that day. The Seven Sisters may pray at any time on that day. The Holy Hour is typically prayed in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament in our Perpetual Adoration Chapel.
From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank all members of the Seven Sisters Apostolate for their commitment and support as I shepherd the newly established parish with Fr. Pawel’s support. Through the generous and prayerful people like those committed women of our parish, my spirit is uplifted, and I feel encouraged as I continue to build a strong foundation for our newly created Parish.
"Support your priests with your love and prayers, that they may always be shepherds after Christ's heart" - Pope Francis.
“In strengthening the priest, you strengthen the whole Church... Strengthen the priest, and you strengthen the whole foundation, you strengthen everything in the Church” - Fr. Gerald Fitzgerald, s.P., Founder Handmaids of the Precious Blood.
